Nick Willsher – Saxophone
Nick Willsher is a jazz saxophonist from Southampton. Nick started playing the saxophone at a very young age, and began to progress through playing with the several Southampton based Jazz Ensembles before starting studying at the Junior Department of the Royal College of Music in 2011. After studying with Mornington Lockett for his three years at the Royal College, Nick transferred to focus on his jazz playing at the Junior Jazz Department of the Royal Academy of Music playing under the guidance of Gareth Lockrane and Simon Colam. Nick then obtained a place at the Purcell School Music to study on the jazz course with Simon Allen. Nick has played at many prestigious venues including the 606 Club in London, The Pizza Express Jazz Club and Swing Unlimited club in Bournemouth.
Nick joined the band in the 2015/16 school year, originally starting in the Baritone Saxophone chair but most recently claiming the Alto Saxophone seat.
