Brinley Heywood – Trumpet

DSCF2594Brinley is a 16 year old trumpeter from Radlett, North London. He started playing trumpet from as early has he can remember after being introduced into a very musical family. He was initially taught by his Uncle and later his Grandfather before successfully gaining a scholarship to attend the Purcell School of Music. Brinley has just started his 5th year at the school and has studied with George Hogg, Steve Waterman, Mike Lovatt and Tony Cross. Brinley has also performed with many artists including the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, Pete Long, Stan Sulzman and Alex Garnett.

Brinley joined the band in 2014 following in the footsteps of his brother who was one of the original members. Brinley plays a Smith Watkins trumpet with a Waburton 3m mouthpiece.
